Kathmandu – The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has stated that the international credibility of Nepali cricket has been bolstered following the official recognition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) by the International Cricket Council (ICC). Speaking at a press conference held at the TU Cricket Ground on Saturday, CAN Secretary Paras Khadka announced that the NPL would be presented in a new, revamped format.
According to Khadka, the ICC’s Anti-Corruption Code will be fully implemented within the NPL. Any incidents involving spot-fixing, match-fixing, or other violations of regulations will be addressed in accordance with international rules. CAN further stated that each team in the league is required to field at least seven Nepali players, with a maximum limit of eight foreign players permitted per team.
Meanwhile, the ICC Asia Conference is set to be held in Nepal from November 19 to 21. CAN noted that representatives from various Asian nations will participate in the conference to discuss the NPL and the overall development of Nepali cricket.
