Floods wash away houses and bridges in Jajarkot, one killed in landslide in Bajura


Floods following incessant rains in Jajarkot have washed away four houses, a snack shop and a suspension bridge. Meanwhile, one person has died in a landslide in Bajura. Due to incessant rains on the night of August 11, a flood in the Tasughat River in Nalgad Municipality-10 of Jajarkot has washed away four houses, a snack shop and a suspension bridge. There has been no human loss due to the flood.


The Jajarkot-Dolpa road section under the Bheri Corridor has been completely blocked due to the flood. A joint team of the Armed Police Force Nepal, Temporary Monsoon Disaster Management Base Dalli Jajarkot and Nepal Police has been mobilized to the incident site.

Meanwhile, a landslide due to rains in Tamsu in Tribeni Municipality-9 of Bajura at around 5:15 this morning swept away two houses. A rescue team was mobilized from the Armed Police Force Nepal Gulma Bajura after receiving reports that one person was missing and two were injured in the landslide.


The rescue team recovered the body of 20-year-old Pratiksha Thapa, who had gone missing in the landslide at 8:15 am. Police said details of other casualties in the incident are yet to be released.
