Kathmandu, 10 Bhadra: Nepal Telecom Company Limited (Nepal Telecom) has made telephone, SMS, and internet services free for the people affected by the flood in Rasuwa.
Minister of Information and Communication Dr. Vikram Thapa had instructed to make free telephone and internet facilities available to the people affected by the flood immediately.
Nepal Telecom has decided to provide unlimited voice service for two days, 2 GB of data per day, and 50 free SMS to the people of the affected area, according to Nepal Telecom spokesperson Kamal Lamichhane.
Telecom is also continuously providing information to the service users in the flood-affected areas and surrounding areas through SMS, urging them to be cautious.
According to Nepal Telecom, preliminary reports have shown that seven towers, two in Rasuwa and five in Nuwakot, have been damaged due to the flood. A team from Nepal Telecom is working in the affected area to repair the towers and service infrastructure.
