Kathmandu – Gagan Kumar Thapa, the newly elected President of the Nepali Congress, has assumed office at the party headquarters in Sanepa. Emphasizing that internal party competition should be viewed as a responsibility rather than a matter of winning or losing, he pledged to make the Nepali Congress relevant to the times by focusing on democracy, social justice, and issues of public concern.
Thapa, who was elected President during the 15th General Convention after defeating Shyam Krishna Khadki, secured 6,584 votes, while Khadki received 375 votes.
