Government Decides to Recommend Two Ordinances to the President

Kathmandu, Kartik 17. The government has recommended that the President issue two ordinances.

Sashmit Pokharel, the government spokesperson and Minister for Education and Sports, stated that a Cabinet meeting held on Tuesday decided to recommend that the President issue an ordinance to amend the Press Council Act, 2048, and another ordinance to amend various Nepal Acts—including those related to culture, tourism, and civil aviation.

The meeting also decided to accept a concessional loan equivalent to 285 million US dollars and a grant assistance of 20 million US dollars from the Asian Development Bank for road improvements.

According to spokesperson Pokharel, the meeting decided to approve the Government of Nepal’s additional investment in rights shares of the Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited. Furthermore, it decided to authorize a high-level delegation to participate in the 31st Conference of the Parties (COP) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), scheduled to be held in Antalya, Türkiye, from Kartik 23 to Mangsir 4.

Additionally, the meeting decided to include nano-fertilizers, biostimulants, and commercially produced and distributed biological and organic fertilizers in the list of essential substances, and to approve the Fertilizer Control Order, 2083. Minister Pokharel informed that a decision has been made to authorize the publication of a notice in the Nepal Gazette extending the deadlines for two processes: the submission of applications by landowners and tenants for the division of land under tenancy, and the finalization of the land division proceedings between them. The new deadlines are set for the end of Kartik 2085 and the end of Asar 2086, respectively. RSS
