Microfinance borrowers' sit-in postponed, 323 return home in 8 buses

Lalitpur. Microfinance borrowers who were protesting outside the Human Rights Commission office in Pulchowk, Lalitpur have returned to their homes today after reaching an agreement with the Nepal government. The protest program was postponed after a 14-point agreement was reached in the talks held between the Nepal government and the borrowers' representatives yesterday, on Bhadra 6. After the agreement, the government has arranged for Sajha Yatayat buses to send them to their destinations from 8:50 this morning. In the presence of officials from various government bodies, 323 borrowers have been sent away in 8 buses. Borrowers from districts including Jhapa, Morang, Sarlahi, Mahottari, Sindhuli, Bara, Parsa and Nawalparasi have been sent to their respective areas.
