Kathmandu, 16 Asar: Minister of Communications and Information Technology Dr. Vikram Thapa has directed Nepal Telecom to make its customer-friendly, fast, and quality service more effective.
Minister Thapa directed to make the service flow more effective, transparent, and based on a digital system while inspecting the Business Support System (BSS) department and the telecommunications office under the Information Technology Directorate of Nepal Telecom located in Sundhara today.
During the inspection, Shalikram Suvedi, the manager of Nepal Telecom, had informed about the work being done through the Information Technology Directorate and the billing system of the telecom.
Minister Thapa had inquired about the billing system, customer management, and service flow based on information technology.
After that, he inspected the telecommunications office located in Sundhara and had a direct conversation with the service recipients who came to receive the service. He inquired about the experience of getting a new SIM card, bill payment, e-SIM service, telephone, and internet service from the service recipients. The service recipients responded that they did not have to wait in line for a long time to receive the service at the office and that they received relatively quick service.
After the inspection, Minister Thapa directed Nepal Telecom to provide more convenient, fast, and quality services to the service recipients. He directed to effectively implement the arrangement to keep the customer's personal details securely in the database and to end the situation where the same documents have to be submitted repeatedly when receiving the service after updating the details once.
On the occasion, Nirmal Raj Chataut, the head of the Sundhara Telecommunications Office, informed that a system has been developed to provide services such as new SIM distribution, KYC update, complaint registration, complaint tracking, and fee payment online, in line with the goal of making the service flow fully digital.
He said that an online application system has been implemented for SIM linking and that customers can receive SIMs from the service center after applying online, and for e-SIM, one does not need to visit the office and can receive the service online.
He also informed that a 'Front Help Desk' has been established to provide all services from one place with the aim of providing 'one-stop service' to the service recipients.
After inspecting the office, Minister Thapa directed Nepal Telecom to pay special attention to ensuring the quality of service, customer satisfaction, and security of personal details along with the expansion of modern services for customers.
