August 23, Kathmandu. Nepal has lost to Hong Kong by 15 runs in the last match of the group stage under the ACC Premier Cup. Chasing a target of 262 runs set by Hong Kong, Nepal was all out for 246 runs in 49.1 overs.
Ishan Pandey scored the highest score of 90 runs for Nepal. Similarly, Asif Sheikh scored 44, Dipendra Singh Airi scored 25, Karan KC scored 21 and Gulshan Jha scored 20 runs.
Hong Kong's Aijaz Khan took 4 wickets in destroying Nepal's innings. Yassim Mortaza took 2 and Kinchit Shah, Nasrullah Rana and Atiq Iqbal took 1 wicket each. Earlier, Hong Kong, which won the toss and batted first, scored 261 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 50 overs. Nepal captain Sandeep Lamichhane took 4 wickets for the loss of 44 runs in 10 overs while stopping the Hong Kong batters. Sher Malla took 3 wickets for 27 runs in 10 overs.
With the defeat of Nepal, Hong Kong has also entered the semi-finals of the ACC Premier Cup along with Nepal. With Hong Kong's victory, host Malaysia is out of the tournament.
