Kathmandu. 11 MPs have registered questions in the question-and-answer program to be held with Prime Minister Balendra Shah tomorrow, Bhadra 10.
Although there is a provision that a maximum of 15 questions can be asked to the Prime Minister in a meeting of the House of Representatives, only 11 questions have been registered within the specified period, the Parliament Secretariat has stated. Prime Minister Shah is scheduled to formally respond to the questions in the meeting on Bhadra 10.
Although the ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSWP) MPs are allowed to register 7 questions as per their quota, only 3 have been registered. Amresh Kumar Singh, Krishnahari Budhathoki and Samiksha Baskota have registered questions from the RSWP.
Similarly, Basna Thapa and Geeta Gurung from the Nepali Congress, Ain Bahadur Mahar and Ganesh Singh Thagunna from the CPN (UML) have registered questions. The Parliament Secretariat has stated that Barshaman Pun and Pramesh Hamal from the Nepali Communist Party (NCP), Harkaraj Rai from the Shram Sanskriti Party, and Khushbu Oli from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) have registered questions.
As per the Speaker's ruling, at least one question each was ensured from all parties. Accordingly, six questions were allocated from six parties and the remaining questions were divided based on the party representation in the House of Representatives.
The Parliament Secretariat had set a quota of 7 questions for the RSP, 2 each for the Nepali Congress, UML, and NCP, according to the party-based quota. Similarly, a quota of 1 question each was set for the Shram Sanskriti Party and the RPP.
Although a limit of 15 questions was set in previous question-and-answer programs, there was a practice of registering more questions than the demand. This time, only 11 questions were registered within the specified time.
